NetObserver®
The Profile and Usage Observatory of European Internet Users.
With more than 1000 partner sites and almost 400,000 respondents per year,
NetObserver is the largest observatory of Internet users carried out in Europe
today.
Conducted every 6 months (spring and autumn), since 1998 in France and 2000
in Europe, NetObserver tracks the evolution of the profiles and the changes of
Internet users over the age of 15, wherever their place of connection (home,
work and also schools, universities, public places…), in 5 markets, France,
Italy, Spain, Germany and the UK.
Further to the user or site centric audience data, NetObserver is an
invaluable tool for every day life with regards to:
- The editorial or marketing departments, who wish to improve the content
and function according to the profiles and satisfaction levels of their
sites’ audience.
- The advertising sales agencies who would like to use the results to market
the sites’ advertising space.
The Offer of a Very Flexible and Comprehensive Study
The NetObserver offer can be adapted to your needs and we offer comprehensive
results for your site.
Constructed on a module based questionnaire, it allows each partner to select
questions in relation to the principal usage functions that in turn will provide
accurate results from the study:
Master (obligatory) - knowing the profile and changes of Internet
users; interests and hobbies; Internet usage, demographics, multimedia
equipment, premium online services and e-commerce etc…
Model of your choice:
Measures the perception and level of
satisfaction of the site regarding ergonomics, the design and the content of
your site and your newsletter (if proposed)
Advertising: Analyses the perception and behaviour of Internet
users in relation to four key areas of online advertising: finance, tourism,
automotive and branded/own brand products.
Sector specific module of your choice: Analyses in detail the market
sector and the target market of your site thanks to the short specific
questionnaires, with a choice of 30 sectors: parenting, women’s, careers and
employment, sport etc…
Straightforward Interpretation of Results
The results for each partner site are compared to:
- the sector category of the site
- the national average- in other words the British Internet users
Each partner site can face up to their competition and identify their
strengths/weaknesses and opportunities/threats which allows them to establish a
tough marketing strategy.
The results are given to the partners, in Excel and PDF format with easy to
interpret graphs.
NetObserver Methodology
Based on an 'in-situ' methodology, the profile of users is established from
the Internet users recruited exclusively from each partner site.
The results of the online survey are then weighted through established
socio-demographic criteria and Internet usage data: sex, age, social class,
region of residence, frequency and place of connection.
This weighting guarantees the NetObserver average to be representative of
the national online population.
Becoming a Partner
Based upon the principle of an exchange, the model put in place by
NetObserver is that of a win-win partnership: in exchange for visibilty (through
editorial links, creatives, DHTML or Flash Invitations) to recruit respondents
from the site or through their newsletter, we give the site results from the
study regarding the profile and usage of its visitors.
Your only obligation: Advertise the NetObserver study on your site!
As a NetObserver partner, you are only obliged to put our invitations online
and/or attach an editorial link for a sufficient period of time (a minimum of 4
weeks) to obtain a minimum number of responses for your site.
At the end of the session, you will receive a profile analysis of the
visitors to your site.
The Harris Interactive Promise
Harris Interactive signs a contract with each partner which
guarantees that the results and information will not be passed onto any third
party.
Harris Interactive guarantees to its clients, quality, reliability
and competitive budgets thanks to a state of the art infrastructure and proven
know-how!
Our Obligation and Your Satisfaction
Striving to fulfil the needs of our partners, we regularly carry out a
satisfaction survey to help us improve our services.
Regarding the latest updates to the survey, the modularity of the
questionnaire, the format of the results, the ergonomics and the length of the
questionnaire have all been improved.
