Harris Interactive Code Of Conduct
Throughout all of their surveys and questionnaires, Harris Interactive respects the
codes of conduct of various market research associations (SYNTEC in France and
ESOMAR in Europe), as well as the French law on "Informatique et Libertés"
(French freedom of information act which derives from the European Directive EU
95/46/CE) which came into effect the 6 January 1978.
By agreeing to these regulations, Harris Interactive guarantees the following points
for people joining the Harris Interactive panel:
- Harris Interactive will only use people that have agreed to take part in further
surveys and questionnaires from Harris Interactive. That is to say, Harris Interactive only uses
email addresses that have been given to them by internet users when they
subscribe to the Harris Interactive panel.
- Participation in any surveys proposed by Harris Interactive is never
obligatory. All participants can notify Harris Interactive that they no
longer wish to be contacted via a particular email address by sending an
email to unsub@harrisinteractive.net with the word 'unsubscribe' in the
subject. The email address specified will then be removed from the panel
within 15 days.
- Harris Interactive has made an official declaration to the CNIL (N°1085169) (the
CNIL is the national association concerned with the rights of freedom of
information concerning the automatic treatment of nominative information).
Anyone who has given personal details to Harris Interactive has the right to change,
correct or remove any information held by Harris Interactive about them. This right
can be exercised by writing to the following address:

If a request for details concerns identification information, it will only
be sent out (by post) after the identity of the person has been verified.
- Harris Interactive guarantees that any personal details supplied to them will be
treated with the utmost security. It will remain confidential and will not
be transferred or sold to any third party.
- All information supplied will be treated anonymously and as a collective
(it will never be given out on an individual level) and will only be used as
statistics for market research.
- At the end of every survey or questionnaire, Harris Interactive offers a prize draw
that is open to everyone taking part. A

- Harris
Interactive uses scripts in the majority of its studies, to collect
information which is solely used to adapt the contents of our studies to the
technical configuration of your computer (browser used, exploitation
system…). In addition, Harris Interactive uses cookies in some of its
studies. You can refuse to install the cookies on your computer, but by
declining them you could be prevented from accessing the studies concerned.
The participants are informed as soon as possible, through the email
address they have previously supplied.
